I remember they wrote “corrected grammar errors” and provided arguments and the PR got merged. Here is the PR. They even posted on Mastodon about it at the time.Edit: It seems now they require contributors to write documentation in gender-neutral language. However, the main dev still complains, to this day, how hard it is to run an OSS project while being “apolitical”.
T (they/she)@beehaw.orgto Open Source@lemmy.ml•Struggling to pick the right Notion alternative—need help1·4 months agoI am sorry to necro this post from a month ago but wanted to say I really appreciated the time and effort you put on this answer.
I have been using Logseq for a few years now and in my case collaboration is welcome. Me and my spouse are using AnyType for this currently (We tried using Vikunja and Planka but didn’t like them). I thought about having a shared Logseq graph but I have been having issues with the Logseq git plugin and I abhor the idea of uploading our personal notes to GitHub.
I searched about Standard Notes and it seems they even got purchased by Proton last year, but as soon as I open their webpage I got greeted by at least 5 AI images.
One that I heard about recently is Joplin. It is very similar to Evernote.

Thank you! Since we cannot guarantee regarding federation I created the thread for my Beehaw fellows
I got my solutions on Codeberg too! I am keeping it private until I finish it though

You can use Rust on both backend and frontend if you feel like it, everything is possible with WebAssembly.

Maps is the only thing Google I wasn’t able to quit yet, whenever I want to go to a restaurant I NEED to look at the pictures of the food and read reviews. I discovered such amazing gems with it.

…Now?
I am glad you gave it a chance despite the title, haha! I think the surprise is part of the experience
I was thinking that maybe I could have put more effort on having people to take a look at it, I know a lot of people will just read the title and think like “fuck off”. haha

T (they/she)@beehaw.orgOPto Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Task Management and Productivity apps4·10 months agoWe found Anytype when searching for a Notion alternative and it is indeed a good one. It is still missing a few features, mainly related to dates and calendars but I am having fun setting up the templates. It takes a bit but eventually it does click, in my case my spouse did the hardwork and explained to me how to use it, lol.
The two main ways I am currently using it are: creating a page and putting a bunch of relevant stuff in there and the other is creating a type and creating a set of said type to be displayed. Don’t know if that will make sense to you but if you are interested I can try to type it in a more detailed way. Logseq is nice but sometimes I needed tables and it was a bit of a mess. Anytype doesn’t have this issue.

I gave up on trying to get people to Mastodon.
Y’all are forgetting how hostile Mastodon users can be. Personally I feel a little bit scared of posting anything there.
