In a joint statement following talks, Xi Jinping and Putin stated that the war in Ukraine could only be resolved by removing its “root causes”.
Such formulation clearly echoes key Russian propaganda messages used by the Kremlin to justify the launch of the full-scale war, including the threat of NATO expansion, discrimination against Russian-speaking people and the suppression of the Russian language, culture and media in Ukraine.
Why don’t we split that shit up? Russia is so large and has so few people in comparison they might as well be a bunch of smaller states who can’t threaten their neighbors like that.

Saying Ukraine is disputed territory is a bit of a stretch, it’s just imperial ambitions by Putin. Ukraine is older than the USSR and Russia.
Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons to get security guarantees from Russia.
Denuclearise them too, but to assure them stability, promise to protect them.
Give Ukraine their nuclear arsenal back for breach of contract.
Russia is essentially a small state with a couple of centuries of imperialist thinking.
