Doctors being bros.
Doctors being bros.
Every single employer I had until I was past 30 pressed for reasons when I called in sick. Some required doctor’s notes. Granted, I’m middle aged and lived in a shitty conservative town where employers constantly broke the law and violated employee rights.
“Ask me again in 4 minutes”
Foiled by living in Australia again!
The 4th the 5th, the 6th the 7th, the 8th the 9th, the 10th the 11th!
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
I have gigabit internet. It doesn’t suck for anything except Teams.
I never had any issues with Zoom or Slack. They do what they’re supposed to do. Jira is fine too, but I’m not a PM, so I don’t have to deal with anything other than the Kanban board.
Edit: I guess it’s relevant that I’m on a MacBook Pro, and not a Windows machine.
Twice. The second time I told him I’m going to register a complaint with the apartment complex, and let the police deal with knocking on his door. He didn’t say much, he was drunk and stoned out of his mind. But I had a toddler, and had to be at work at 4 am, so his 2 am shenanigans seriously impacted me, and my patience was gone after the second offense. Thankfully there was never a 3rd.
Teams is the worst product Microsoft has released since IE.
We’ve associated nail trimming with positive rewards since our 5 month old puppy was around 8 weeks old, so he’s pretty chill about it. He’ll let you trim 3 feet without any issues. On the 4th foot he’s pretty much done with our shit and starts pulling away, but he does let us do it. We just put him on a special table that is used for grooming him, and he sits there and lets us do his nails. He’s also pretty ambivalent to shots, but again, we’ve always done everything we can to make these positive experiences for him, with lots of treats and praise. Brushing his teeth is equally as chill. It usually comes down to exposing the pupper to these things at a young age and making it an overall positive experience. He also went through a professional puppy socialization class for 6 weeks, to make sure he’s cool with people and other dogs, since he’s going to be a large and powerful dog when he’s fully grown. He goes into advanced obedience training class in 2 weeks!
That pupper needs some training
Is that the Mexican music with super heavy tuba for the bass? My neighbors used to pump that music at max volume until the wee hours of the morning when they were having parties.
When I lived in an apartment my upstairs neighbor would play FPS games at 2 am with volume levels approaching the volume levels of actual combat. It was so loud that he couldn’t hear me banging on his door until I was almost kicking the door in.
Maybe you just don’t have a reasonable comparison. We just switched from Slack and Zoom to Teams and it has significantly impacted our ability to collaborate and communicate. It’s constantly dropping calls, video quality is awful, annotation is awful, the layout is wasteful with tons of wasted space, audio is terrible, there’s no closed captioning visible while screen sharing, there are too many problems to list. It’s the type of product I’d expect from a high school programming class, not a trillion dollar company.
Jira is a masterpiece compared to the dumpster fire that is Teams.
Worse? That’s way better! Everyone loves Yoda.
Did you mistake my sandwich for your own sandwich with a moist maker?
You ate, MY SANDWICH?
I’ve been on both sides of this picture at different times in my life.
Yes, these were mostly low level blue collar jobs. As much as I hate corporations, sole proprietorships were way worse about violating worker’s rights. They don’t have established policies, HR departments, and all that kind of stuff. They have some rich fucker with a huge ego, and a few managers who are led by said rich fucker, so his attitude trickles down and affects everything. It sucks, especially in a smaller town with limited opportunities.
