Don’t forget the tax exemption status.
About a year ago I decided to remove my name from my email signature. It’s mind boggling how different email replies/inquiries are now. People just assume I’m a man because making cars go fast = men things. When they finally meet me, or talk to me on the phone, there’s an instant demeanor change. Some not bad, others hostile.
Not to diminish anything enlisted woman have gone through, but this is by no means unique to military service. I am a women, who works in a very male dominated field, and the hostility, belittling, sexism, etc I have to endure, that my male counterparts don’t is massive.
Grew up in San Diego, which is surrounded by military bases (mostly marine corp and navy). This is absolutely the truth. There is also the whole never experiencing anything outside their bubble factor too. I’ve met a few pretty intelligent enlisted “grunts” who just never saw anything but their one stop sign town, that has NO diversity, and some really assbackwards ideas.
How very Nissan of them. For a company that’s been building cars for about half a century, you’d think they’d have figured out the simple shit by now.
I’ve tried multiple variations of those, and they all end up smelling/tasting horrible anyhow. Thanks though. What we are doing works well for us.
Maybe I’m dumb, but if I go buy property in Mexico (for instance) and the government decides to take it, or I stop paying on it, or run out of money, I don’t get any protections for my money. I can’t file for bankruptcy and keep my money safe. I gambled and lost.
Why do non American companies/people have the opportunity to file for bankruptcy as protection in a country they aren’t beholden to the rules of?

I rent so I’m stuck with that I’ve got. As I’ve said, I can’t do anymore due diligence here.
I’ve also had to switch water companies 4 or 5 times now because nestle keeps buying up the little local companies. I also use stainless or glass bottles for drinking out of.
Nestle claims they still used the same spring as the last company (which had the best tasting water) but as soon as nestle took over it tasted exactly like the rest of the arrowhead shit. Plus the service went to hell. So I switched to sparkletts.
I do use reusable steel and glass bottles.
I understand that, but I can’t do anymore due diligence than I have done.
I’ve also had to switch water companies 3 or 4 times now because fucking nestle keeps buying the small local companies. Fuck nestle.
I’m imagine it depends who the service company for the filling machine is. Our delivery is from sparkeletts, and I made sure to get the spring water, not the filtered water.
Sparkletts has a filter option which iirc they call primo and a spring water option. I get the spring water, so unless they are flat out lying, no it’s not in my case.
It’s spring water from sparkletts. I made sure not to get just filtered tap water. Unless they are flat out lying about what is in the bottles (not saying it’s even a far stretch, but I can’t do any more due diligence)
Everyone for years - “Why do you waste money on bottled water” (the big 5 gallon kind on a dispenser)
Me - Uh, have you ever had tap water?
Don’t forget women have historically received worse care, than their male counterparts. In addition, since much of medicine/treatments/tests/etc has been tested on men only, there are gap in care for women because the same things may not be true for them as a man.
So, yes, both are probably true, but I think there is a quality of care improvement for part of the population, finally. Even if it’s only minor
It’s location dependent, but LAPD isn’t any better. At least here in SD, the sheriffs that I’ve dealt with have all seemed to want to be good people, and tried to help.
Like I said, I was mostly just curious. I’m in San Diego county. Typically here, you have sheriff everywhere except cities with large enough populations or high enough crime rates to justify an actual police department. IMO all the cities that are sheriff are FAR better than any that have PD to be in/live in.
Genuinely curious. Why does a tiny town even have a police department? Why doesn’t the sheriff handle it with the neighboring towns?
I’m pretty sure removing the “during pregnancy” part of the title would make it FAR more accurate.
Women historically receive less/worse treatment than men.
Also from the same article
I have personally experienced both, and have had my husband speak for me, after being dismissed, and got a wildly different response.
I could go on and on about it, but women universally receive worse medical care.
