  • Aww, is someone having to change their quote, because what they said was incorrect, but you can’t admit to it so you pretend you didn’t say what you actually did say?

You didn’t say “depression is in your head”. You said “Objectively, depression is JUST in your head.”

That’s something an overconfident moron with no understanding of psychiatry might say.

So by saying “OBJECTIVELY, depression is just in your head” you actually meant “well, depression isn’t just in your head, it encompasses the whole body and we all understand about how mind-body dualism is a naive concept and everything in your body affects your mind and the other way around. depression creates inflammation through-out the body, robbing it of vital functionality required to maintain proper homeostasis, leading to a feedback loop worsening the situation”?

That’s quite a lot of subtext for something that’s prescriptively opposite of the comment.

Are you sure you’re not just lying because you’re ashamed of having said something incorrect? Because to me, that seems much more simple of an explanation.

Imagine me writing “the earth is flat” and then arguing that if you read that as if I thought the earth was flat, you’re a moron, since I “obviously” meant that the Earth is of course actually an oblate spheroid. That would seem a tad silly, wouldn’t it?

“Objectively, it’s JUST in your head.”

You said something moronic which I’ve proved completely wrong and instead of manning up and taking your words back, you dig in deeper to your stupidity, as if this was real life and you could get away with your bullshit.

You don’t know a single thing about psychiatry, child.

Edit and also digestive issues are very much commonplace in mental disorders and poor nutrition can cause depression and in depression your entire body gets inflamed, so one could actually say depression is also in your arse

  • “It’s just in your head”

“Nobody is denting that depression affects your entire body.”

This is what I mean. Youre defending this dipshit because you thought me rude. You’re defending a willfully ignorant dolt who’s literally saying “trustmebro” over me explaining how nothing is “just” in your head or your body because there is no such division in our bodies, and how depression can be induced extremely easily just by changing the physical environment of a person and limiting their nutrients.

So it’s incredibly fucking reductive (and thus harmful misinfo) to say “it’s just in your head”. And you’re defending a person who did that, because “he’s just being skeptical”.

You’re like the right wing fuck nuts who try to read deeper meaning into Trump’s demented babbling, saying what a genius he is while he’s talking absolute gibberish…

He’s not being skeptical. He’s ignoring actual science and asserting his ignorant “trustmebro” facts. That’s not skepticism ffs.

  • “Blindly trusting science”

    No-one is blindly trusting science.

I’m saying we know for a fact how depression affects your entire body.

    “FelixCress is just being skeptical”

No, they’re not. They’re like a flat earther. They have absolutely no idea even of the basics of psychiatry.

This is why Trump won. People like you defending people like him. Not all opinions are equal.

You’re making an argument about skepticism, but you trust a guy who doesn’t have sources and doesn’t reason his “it’s just in your head” bullshit?

So anyone can claim literally anything they want and if anyone dares point out how we actually do know for a fact the Earth isn’t flat, you’ll get mad and start blaming those people for eugenics while defending some dipshit as “just skeptic” who’s claiming the Earth is pancake shaped.

Fucking hell it’s depressing just how strong the antiscience culture is.

  • I have, aye.

You’re still going on about how when you google the term, you’ll get a Wikipedia link and it says “mental disorder” right? I mean that completely means everything I proved about depression affecting your whole body wrong, without you needing to open any of them, doesn’t it? /s

“It’s just in your head” is the most naive quote I’ve read about depression in a decade.

  • It’s not though.

Very simply put depression causes inflammation in your body which in turn feeds back to the poor state of your neurotransmitters. Not to even talk about the lack of nutrients your body suffers from and what effects those have, because being depressed affects your appetite, which is determined by hormones.

If I would put you in a prison cell and feed you piss poor food without proper vitamins and whatnot, you would get depressed. Even if you had all the best coping mechanisms and enjoyed meditating 18 hours a day while exercising, it wouldn’t take more than a month or two for the simple lack of nutrients to start fucking up your nervous system. You wouldn’t be able to exercise or sleep properly and would definitely get depression.

So kindly stop it with that bs
