I’ve got bad news for you, the CCP is happy to use American social media to manipulate the populous, it doesn’t matter if it’s US owned or not.
Do you think that wealthy citizens can’t be bought off by hostile foreign governments? Neither is better - we need actual regulation rather than worrying about a single company.
You’re gunna turn into dust by the time the government regulates Meta. The only reason they care about TikTok so much is optics and the fact that a foreign company is abusing the system in the same way as the domestic social media companies. The fix isn’t to divest ByteDance, the fix is to pass actual regulation with teeth that applies to domestic and foreign companies alike.
The researchers concluded that overall, while the man’s excessive vaccination history increased his antibody levels and apparently protected him from infection, hyper-activating his immune system did not seem to have a negative effect on his ability to mount an adequate response. At the same time, his extreme measures did not seem to afford him a level of super-immunity that distinguished his response dramatically from others who followed the recommended vaccination schedule. “His immune system was neither positively nor negatively affected," says Schober.
To be clear, he’ll still be in the senate, but at least he’ll have less power.
Either full $454 million or get lost.
Rivian hasn’t yet adopted NACS, these are CCS.
I’ve taken this for years and had no idea about these side effects until recently. I’ve now started to taper as I’m almost positive it effects my mood, and seems to do little for my asthma.
Yep, I just got local county fiber installed because Comcast would go down twice a day, at least. On top of that, I was paying out the ass for shitty upload speed and to remove the 1.2TB data cap. The local ISPs are about $60/mo for 1 gig up and down, compared to Comcast’s $130/month for 1 “gig” down and 30 meg up.
Internet should be public like many other utilities.
If they eventually do have a search engine, it definitely can’t be trusted. GPT-4 loves to hallucinate.
I bet they could cut costs even more by canning the CEO
I lived in Utah for a bit, and the half-year long inversions were horrible. It stinks so bad, and literally hurts to breathe. The only escape is to go into the mountains to get above it, where you can look back at the shelf of pollution with a renewed hatred of the Utahn government.
Well, that’s not really the problem. The problem is that the government is covering the difference (through subsidizing the mega-corps that offer this).
Imagine having a King in 2024
We shouldn’t be subsidizing giant corporations in the first place. How about just making proper, consumer protecting regulations instead?
Awesome! My small business definitely only trusts accountants and bookkeeping services that post spam advertisements to Lemmy. When can we start?
Spoiler: it won’t be $25,000.
Unemployment isn’t enough, I’m not forgetting that at all.
Really happy this is the focus of our highest chambers of government and not passing actual regulations for all social media companies, or you know, giving citizens healthcare.
