As someone thinking of doing a PhD, I want those dirty foreigners and their ivy league diplomas out! They are stealing my jobs!
A human on earth. Ask me about weird tech. Bonus points if it radiates.

Yup. People don’t care about the kids mining their cobalt. To care about the animals they eat would be a long process.
“Trump bad”
“But but but what about Biden???”
It runs just fine for me, huh. Certainly not because of lack of google services.
Maybe graphene is doing some firewall things? KDE Connect needs some ports open (to the local lan) to talk
If you have a phone with custom ROM support, pretty easy. I’ve been running LineageOS without GAPPS for like 5 years now. Most stuff just works, but to be fair, I am not using any of the cool kids apps like google pay or android auto.
Emotionally, I want to agree with you, but lynching is almost always going to hit the wrong people, too. The well connected teacher/coach/advisor who likes to prey on girls is not going to be hit, but the black guy who happens to be at the wrong spot at the wrong time, and triggers all the “we must protect our women!1!” ?
Oh, definitively not. I’m not even 30, and I remember that NY dad’s car from when I was a kid needed a special additive to replace the lead, because that had been banned since he bought it
The thing I hear occasionally and that I actually agree with is that from an outsiders’ perspective, the US has a right wing party and a far-right party.
European Socialism? Come on, we are supposed to be better than “socialism is when health care”.
I know what you want to say, but last time I checked, every EU country had millionaires and beggars, a market economy, most companies were in the hand of private citizens or shareholders, and guaranteed private property (with the usual legal exceptions).
Don’t be like the populists. Words have meanings and meanings matter. It is social market economy at most.
Mostly MJK, thank you very much
I am agreeing with you here, for fuck’s sake.
This administration likes to call all things it does not like illegal. Like not buying a Tesla.
I agree i could have worded more clearly. But chill out, man.
Did you buy a Tesla? No? Congrats, you are part of the illegal boycott now. President said so.
Pretty sure that teenage Freddy did fuck Mercury at some point, we’ve all been 14 after all
I mean, he was Freddie fucking Mercury after all. That is like saying Keith Richards has slept with a few groupies and took some drugs
Honestly? Cool that you are asking, but I just want a coffee, not a conversation.
Yes, I’m German, how could you tell?
One difference is that Egypt and Turkey have a lot of tourism, so they tend to be quite tolerant towards tourists. You don’t want to scare off potential customers. The US seems to forget that.
It is more about being able to constantly spy on everyone. Funny how this exact sentence would have labeled one as a conspiracy nut not too long ago.
Constantly online means constant (more or less) analytics, means constant data to throw in the big computer to make you buy more shit or vote for the shit party.
I am outside of the US, and I do care. Biggest army and economy and so on. Even if not, I would not want to be associated with, idk, Australian wannabe tyrants either.
I’d like to point out that it is only one single proposal. If this does not get shut down, then it is time to be worried. But for now, it might just be one glue-sniffing Congressperson sniffing the wrong kind of glue one morning.
Jokes aside, I think it is more that they want to attract the really good people. There already is a complete power imbalance in many science fields, and in applied fields, they will still have to compete with industry jobs.
