  • “Based on your description it seems like that would be called female privilege but I don’t think I’ve ever heard that phrase used in a genuine fashion before.”

I don’t get the concept that you need to hear other people use ‘female privilege’ specifically in some kind of way for there to be privilege to be applied to women, that’s a very strange Idea, white women in particular have often been used as the biggest examples of white privilege, both as the persons being favored and the enforce or catalyst of violence. You seem much more wrapped up in some kind of sectarian US Against THEM dichotomy rather than even engaging with the discussion.

  • That doesn’t change anything. The reality is the issue at hand. Is there is a double Standard? Is it very prevalent through out our culture? should it be changed? These are the issues.

Far too often people take any form of feminism to be all encompassing of the most extreme views they’ve heard, or even that others have claimed without reason. Feminism isn’t oppositional to men, it’s not even blaming men, just like toxic masculinity isn’t about ‘‘men bad’’ because it includes problem like ‘‘men are conditioned to repress their emotions which is harmful to men’’ and ‘‘men being drafted and not women perpetuates a view that men are disposable, this is a really negative view that’s deeply harmful to men’’

It’s not about who’s to blame, who is the enforcer, where did it begin. And not every privilege is a insult to the group that has it. Women do have privileges as well, they are less likely to be suspected of child sexual abuse in professions with children, They receive far less prison time for convictions, they get favored in family court rulings. This doesn’t negate all Feminism, nor does it disparage women, these are very borad social realities, that are difficult to change. There are Feminists who have advocates to include women in the draft, there are women who have tried to put forth changes in child rearing to reduce the chance a boy will grow up to be emotionally repressed. It’s not about who is to blame, it’s about seeing a double standard and working on it.

  • That cost isn’t even high by civilian standards, and the military has struggled to provide proper servicee, you’d be surprised how many people who are in uniform providing services at military funerals are just people willing to volunteer to do so at their own cost, some travel quite a length to do so.

The next time someone asks you about being a patriot, supporting the troops, and so forth, keep in mind that your against proper funeral services for veterans to save a nickel and represent that view. Be honest, let them know you don’t care.

  • He’s not, he had higher polling with African Americans in the last two elections than actual voters, he had extremely low voting numbers with African Americans, slightly higher with men, but not by that much, it’s really common in politics to have a lot of people doing shady bullshit to see if it will sway elections, also the population nation wide is low enough that getting a sample size that’s actually representative is not likely, even some trusted unbiased polling was using the opinion of one single person to represent all polling numbers in a whole state and the poll was pretty old by that point as well, so with African Americans you see a lot of really strange lookin poll numbers, but believe me, Trump going after Haitian refugees with racist tropes about ‘‘savage’’ and voodoo bullshit made him quite vile to antiracists of all stripes, I don’t think those numbers are going to pan out at all.

Now Hispanics, that’s a whole different story, being Hispanic myself I can tell you, it’s not a solid voting block. We aren’t as good at consistently voting in our own interests. There’s light skinned people who think they’re white enough to be in the whites only club, racism isn’t hard to find among Hispanics, many do hate African Americans and others, so the white identifying crowd can be pretty similar to racist whites in a lot of ways, you also have Hispanics that are very concerned with hyper mauculinity and want the strongest man, and only think in terms of displays vs substance, and there’s deeply religious Hispanics who can get drawn in with the evangelical rhetoric. So your not going to see a big percentage on one vote or issue with Hispanics, it’s always going to be a mixed bag even with Trump’s promise too deport more Hispanics from the US regardless of legal status, or his call backs to ‘‘operation wetback’’ or this bullshit, you just won’t see big sweeping numbers from Hispanics it will always be slip up.

  • Like everyone who’s ever delt with a wanted, but dangerous failed pregnancy said would happen.

But I don’t think Texas Republicans are upset this is happening at all. Two outcomes they are probably extremely happy about.

African-American expectant mothers were already dying in child birth at double the rates of everyone else in Texas, now that all death rates have doubled, their rate of death is significantly high.

Secondly, and the intention of all these cut backs into women’s basic human rights. OBs are saying their patients are entirely fearful of what the government could do to them if they have any complication during pregnancy.

Terrifying women it’s what they wanted. Terrified women are much easier to control and abuse. No more divorce? Only having human rights if they’re married to a white man? This is great for creating an ethno state.
