“The most useless creature on earth, directly followed by the second most useless, the journalist” one of my chemistry profs (a highly respected authority within the chemical community) used to say about politicians. A slightly extreme opinion, IMO, but he predicted several upcoming “scandals” caused by the press’ and politicians’ complete ignorance of chemistry and inability to think scientifically. His predictions turned out to be 100% right.
One thing authoritarian systems have in common is a permanent atmosphere of fear. Honesty is highly unwanted there, integrity will get you straight into trouble. Fascist systems are built on hypocrisy and fear.
Who said you have to believe one side or the other? Who would believe a single word from a politician? You’d have to be really naive to assume they’d ever be honest. There’s no sarcasm or hubris in that. They’ll lie faster than they can think.
I’d trust Bach as much as I’d trust Putin. So I just don’t fucking care. Never cared about the Olympics, anyway so this shit show isn’t going to spoil my day.

I haven’t bought a single TV in my whole life and I haven’t missed anything important. Whenever I am somewhere where there’s a TV and I’ve got nothing better to do or I’m just curious I zap through the channels whithout finding anything remotely interesting or entertaining 99% of the time. I really wonder what people want with these ad-infested, annoying trashcans. Aren’t you dumb enough, yet? Try heavy drinking. Preferrably methanol or break fluid…

I’ve been boycotting Amazon since the days when they were an ugly data grabbing bookstore and I’ll happily go on until the end of time.
OTOH, I’ve been using a HP laser printer for years and the last time I spent 40€ for toner was almost two years ago. Just stay away from shitty inksquirters or even shittier “multi-function-devices”. They are customer-rippoff devices without real use, nothing else. Honestly, if you think you need to print colorful, fuzzy pictures that will fade at the first streak of sunlight you probably had it coming.
