The fact that this is legal, and these people are walking around free to intimidate people and conspire to interfere with elections are atrocities and should not be tolerated by anybody.
I’m taking Tuesday off, and after voting, I plan to spend my morning with my boys working in the yard. Then I’ll take them to their mother’s so they can play with the neighbor’s grandson. After that, I’m treating my kids to their favorite restaurant, finished off with some local ice cream.
Maybe I’m being over dramatic, but I worry that by the time Wednesday rolls around, the shit will hit the fan regardless of who wins Tuesday night.
At least, I hope I’m being over dramatic. 😔
You can say the same things about sports betting.
It’s fucked up for sure. Investing is akin to gambling in Vegas. Any one otherwise inconsequential detail could completely bankrupt you, and we’re expected to pin our elder years on this system.
Burn in fucking Hell Raegan.
I don’t understand why they don’t just migrate .io into a non-country code domain. Hell, they could auction it off to anybody (company, country, or person) who wants it bad enough. Let it live alongside the other custom domains.
Is this better?
Look, I get where you and others are coming from. But the thing about depression and suicide is that it’s not a one-size-fits-all thing. It comes in all shapes, sizes, and forms.
You’d be surprised how many people you might know who are depressed and/or suicidal, but look normal. There is a Grand Canyon sized stigma to being depressed and suicidal, and a lot of people will do everything they can to mask it so that they aren’t a burden to their family and friends.
I know, because I speak from decades of experience.
Maybe a bit more parenting could have helped.
No.
If someone is depressed enough to kill themselves, no amount of “more parenting” could’ve stopped that.
Shame on you for trying to shame the parents.
And not having a fricking gun in your house your kid can reach.
Maybe. Maybe not. I won’t argue about the merits of securing weapons in a house with kids. That’s a no-brainer. But there is always more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.
On and regulations on LLMs please.
Pandora’s Box has been opened. There’s no putting it back now. No amount of regulation will fix any of this.
Maybe a Time Machine.
Maybe…
I do believe that we need to talk more about suicide, normalize therapy, free healthcare (I’ll settle for free mental healthcare), funding for more licensed social workers in schools, train parents and teachers on how to recognize these types of situations, etc.
As parents we do need to be talking more with our kids. Even just casual check ins to see how they’re doing. Parents should also talk to their kids about how they are feeling too. It’ll help the kids understand that everybody feels stress, anxiety, and sadness (to name a few emotions).
We’re kind of seeing that with those private jet trackers. But that’s not changing anything except getting those accounts banned from social media.
This should be illegal. There is absolutely no good reason this should be available to anybody. It should also be considered unconstitutional; if one of those dots is a person, whether you directly know who the person is or not, it should violate the right to privacy and the right of illegal search and seizure — no questions asked.
Because right now’s political climate is about how abortion is being billed en masse as murder, and people are having to go to other states to get abortions (even for miscarriages), so the states that bill abortion as murder want to be able to prosecute the women. So there are a lot of fears that states will be tracking women through tools like this, and it turns out the fearful were correct.
Let’s bring back those animated gifs (mailbox and under construction) from the 90s. That’ll get everyone riled back up again.
Hm. I wonder if I could get those lenses in my prescription. That would be neat.
Now would be a good time to start a line of headwear that has infrared leds to shield your face from cameras.
That’s an excellent question. Unfortunately I do not have an answer. But I believe it’s worth discussing some means of redundancy for the IA; even if it’s as simple as rsync to other hosts.
Maybe it’s time to federate the IA.
I would imagine that it might also be that maybe it’s all they ever known, and so t know where else to go. I know that’s how I’d feel if it were to be me in their shoes.
If this is true, then it’s not a setting that users can access. At least not that I can find.
