Yes, it is good, but this step forward is only the result of an arguably bigger step backward, which is why people are bringing it up.

Not to mention we already had repairable wired headphones that we can’t use now if we get a fairphone.
I think part of the conversation is about how they got rid of the headphone jack shortly before releasing these. While it is good that these exist, it seems like they exist as a result of a popular anti-consumer business choice that people don’t like, and is thus tied to that choice.
Yeah, idk why people are downvoting you so hard. There are some seriously good passive noise cancellation buds out there. Kind of insane when you actually try them.
I’m all for Amazon getting sued but… the big one? Wasn’t there another “big one” a week or two ago? And who called it that? Feels like the reporters just made that part up.
Gentoo or bust :P
Mint is good. It’s based on Ubuntu, but it has a more Windows-like interface. You’ll be able to follow along with most ubuntu tutorials while having a more familiar experience. It also supports a wider array of software and imo has a better ethos than Ubuntu (much like Ubuntu has a better ethos than Windows).
I for one am thoroughly impressed (and depressed) at how much it is taking for people to actually leave.
I didn’t know this. But Apple is a different company than they were in the 80’s and i feel that it would still be bad today.
Edit: or the 90’s when they made their last models according to that article.
What? Why would they release that? Like it’s obviously going to become a thing but it doesn’t have to be one now.
I can’t wait until a company like Apple creates their own printers and somehow makes it worse.
There’s ubuntu touch. I’m not sure how many phones that works on though.
You say it’s from the 80s like it… matters at all whatsoever. It works, and it works well. It doesn’t stop me from adding an extra useless bit of cable on the end of them either, if that’s what i really wanted to do.
I would buy a fairphone in a heartbeat if it had a headphone jack.
I know lots of people find they can get away without it but i use mine literally every day and i much prefer it over navigating menus to use Bluetooth.
Jesse what the fuck are you talking about
Well, reality isn’t always intuitive, so it’s good to double check like this.
It’s a simulation, not really a study.
Very cool. But they removed it for now, so I’ll assume it’s permanent until proven otherwise. Not very cool.
I use it every day on my way to work and most nights before bed.
