If we live in a country where a child can get ran over or shot every day and nobody gets prison time for it, we can set a man free who kills a serial killer that preys on the poor and injured for profit.
This has a potentially significant chance of backfiring, as it is more difficult to get a jury to convict when the death penalty is at stake.
